About This Spot

Stepping into TC Vietnamese, tucked into a quiet corner of Traverse City, feels like discovering a warmly lit refuge from the everyday bustle. The space is intimate and unpretentious—a small, friendly haven where the hum of quiet conversations blends with the soft clinking of bowls and chopsticks. It’s the kind of spot that encourages you to slow down, settle in, and savor each moment as much as the food itself.

The rhythm here is easygoing yet attentive. Behind the counter and among the tables, the staff offers a welcoming presence, helping newcomers navigate a menu that feels like a love letter to classic Vietnamese comfort. As your bowl of pho arrives, fragrant with layers of tender brisket and fresh herbs, there’s a kind of quiet excitement—the anticipation of flavors simmered in tradition, but with just enough subtle twists to make it uniquely theirs.

There’s a casual, homey vibe in the way plates are shared, stories are exchanged, and the authentic atmosphere is gently punctuated by the thoughtful details—a splash of sriracha, a side of tangy fish sauce, or a cool glass of lemon tea. Whether you’re drawn to the silky summer rolls, the satisfying crunch of fried egg rolls, or the subtle sweetness of a boba milk tea, each bite carries a sense of genuine care and connection.

In a town where large crowds and flashy spots can sometimes overwhelm, TC Vietnamese invites you to slow down, connect, and appreciate the small, joyful moments that make dining not just a necessity, but an experience. It’s an approachable neighborhood gem where tradition feels lived-in, and every meal is an invitation to savor something both familiar and quietly special.

Had pho two nights in a row, it was so good. The waitress was helpful and kind.

Very nice, small Vietnamese restaurant. The shrimp spring rolls were amazing and the dipping sauce is so good. Their pho is a very good portion and the broth is so good.

I have been on the road for a few days and am craving Vietnamese foods. Found this restaurant on GMaps, read some reviews and decided to check it out myself. I have the combo pho and it does not disappoint: the broth was on point, the amount of meats (meatballs, and brisket) were just right. The place is clean and I learned that the ownership has changed hands recently. To the new owners: please do not change (or short cut) the broth making for the phở. 4 instead of 5 stars due to the bowl size.

Food was great! Table service was great! Atmosphere was great! Only reason one star was left off was at the end when we got the check the summer spring rolls were $8 but the menu said $7. When I brought it up the man said that they haven’t changed their menu prices yet and still charged $8

Good spot for a pho fix! Authentic set up on the table with sriracha, hoisin sauce and chili oil. Bowls came out with the traditional side of veggies. Great portions and came with a good amount of meat. My mom was raised in Vietnam and was wondering if their broth is made with real beef bones.. but I couldn’t tell the difference and thought it was delicious! Thai tea is decent, but could use some more actual tea. Pictured below is the combination pho! Highly recommend. The meatballs were so good and authentic.

I think the food here was nice for a change. I was on the road for about 2.5 hours and it was a nice break from burgers and gas station food. Honestly, their portions weren't much and I don't think it was worth $20 for that size bowl of pho. In the Twin Cities, you get twice that for less than $20 but I'd say the pho was a 3.5/5. I would still love to try something else on the menu if I'm ever in the town again. Understandably, maintaining a restaurant where the city doesn't have ingredients down the street may be a challenge. The vermicelli bowl was refreshing and tasty.

The owner was so nice and helped customers pick out what they would like from the menu! The boba is sweet but not too sweet and you get to choose what flavor pearls or jelly. The egg roll noodle bowl I got was good and a fair price for the portion! I’ll be back to try more plates!
